The Growth and Development summit organized by Sarah Baartman District Municipality started well with all the SMME's present to showcase their wonderful works of art. The King Lobengula Foundation had an opportunity to showcase some of its wonderful artworks kept at the Princess Zila Lobengula Museum at Fingo Village. A person can visit the museum to see more of what we have in store. The village will be starting soon with the renovations of the building to enable us to store other valuable artifacts that are prone to weather conditions. The Foundation is also preparing its grounds to start teaching the young generation, and the Community in commercial agriculture. And we are open to Artists who want to exhibit the artworks in our gallery or through our website.

The September Month Heritage Games are quickly approaching, and we shall announce the date for the registration of the 10Km Fun Run Walk Marathon that would take place on the 24th of September 2023, Heritage Day. We expect to have a number of Activities during the month of September, including a Soccer and a Netball Tournament.

The Grade 4 - 7 students from Fikizolo have started a pilot project with the King Lobengula Foundation to conduct research on the valuable historical buildings and landmarks in and around Kwa-Ndancama Location which has tangible heritage such as the Lobengula Gravesite. It is so sad to find a community in dire straits whilst there is so much rich heritage that can be explored by Students and Tourists. This would be a positive step towards transformation and removing colonial era syndrome that has left a hangover on our heads and needs to be dealt with urgently to restore the pride and dignity of the African People. The Lobengula saga is still a mystery that is yet to be solved as to why the bones of the royal descendants are found in such sad conditions, and our government is doing absolutely nothing to rectify the past, which is now destroying the young generation, who are so disoriented.

Hence, the Foundation is making a call to Artist's and Crafters, and with the Businesses to come together and make Heritage Month a success story. Those who want to be involved in commercial farming or are part of the Creative Industries are invited to come forth and join hands with us to make a change in our neighborhood.
